Get an online presence with Wake Sites

Wake Sites is a new service offered to WFU faculty, staff, and students. It allows you to create and manage your own WordPress site for whatever use you can dream. Additionally, it provides the ability to set up and host a few more specialized web-based services, such as Big PictureScalar, Omeka, MediaWiki, True Writer, True Collector, and more.

Instructional Technologists Jo Lowe and Scott Claybrook will be offering an introductory class called Get Online With Wake Sites on Sept 30. In this class, we will cover:

• activating your Wake Sites account
• an introduction to the Wake Sites cPanel Dashboard
• setting up a “calling” card with Big Picture
• installing a full WordPress instance
