Microsoft announces transcription capabilities in Word Online
WFU Office365 has long let us use the online versions of the Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, etc). Recently Microsoft has announced a new feature that is available in the online version of Word: automatic transcription of audio. Check out Microsoft’s video demonstrating the process here.
The explicit, step-by-step instructions are found here.
At the time of this writing, this is a new feature. Only US-English is currently supported for the transcription services. I can only assume other languages will arrive in due time.
I can imagine anyone who make audio recordings – journalists, writers, scientists, medical professionals – would find this useful.
