FRIEDMAN ANNOUNCED AS NEW DIRECTOR

head & shoulders shot of Dr. FriedmanThe Office of the Dean of the College is delighted to announce that Adam Friedman, Professor and Chair of the Department of Education, will take on the role of Director of the Instructional Technology Group, starting July 1, 2020, for a three-year renewable term. Adam will have the responsibility of leading and supporting faculty in the adoption of new technologies while promoting Wake Forest as a leader in technology-enhanced education regionally and nationally. As director, Adam will play an important role in coordinating strong collaborations between the 14 Instructional Technologists within the College’s ITG, the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Information Systems, Online Education, ZSR Library, and the College faculty.

As many of you know Rick Matthews, Professor of Physics and current Director of Academic and Instructional Technology, will be retiring at the end of this academic year after 41 years of dedicated service to the university and after six years in this inaugural director role. We are indebted to Rick for his wonderful leadership of the ITG.
